Fairs and Festivals in Goa is very popular. People enjoy the festivals and fairs with lots of happiness. There are many popular fairs and festivals are there in Goa they are Three king Church fair , Old Goa fair, Shigmo, Diwali, Christmas,EID UL FITR etc..

CHRISTMAS

Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is also known in  konkani as the "Natal". On that day Catholics people go and attending the Mass at Midnight. After this they Decorated their Homes with Stars, Christmas tree, Crib (gotho), lighting's etc.. Then they distribute sweets according to their culture.

DIWALI

Diwali is also known as significant festival of Goa. It is believed that lord Krishna killed demon named Narkasur ruling Goa. For this purpose every year people make statue of Narkasur and burn him on the day of Diwali as a sign of victory. After this we have bath and then we eat something bitter and later continue eating sweets of Diwali. The day starts from burning of diva. The full Diwali season is of happiness and joy.

EID-UL-FITR

  This is important festivals of Muslims that comes after the month of Ramadan the month in which people fast called Roza in Urdu word .On this day they don't eat or drink anything for the full day in the evening boys goes to mosque called Masjid in their language to break their fast and women's break their fast in houses because they are not allowed to enter the mosque.

This festival is related to lord Ganesha and his birth. People clean their home and and as well as surrounding. People decorating their homes with lights, decorative papers, decoration with various fruits and vegetables(matoli) etc.. It is very popular festival. On the day of Ganesh chaturthi we woke up early in the morning and then we bring Ganesha at home . Ganesha is staying for 1 1/2 day, 5 days,7 days, 9 days, 11 days, and 21 days. We do prayers daily and serving the prasad to the people. It is favorite festival of children as well as elders.


                                    SHIGMO                                              
                                                                         


This festival is celebrated during springtime and it is continued to 5 days. It is celebrated in various places. People also called this festival as "Shigmotsav". In this people hold umbrella and sticks and dancing. People also dancing with horse. They also dance with Dhol Tasha. After this dance there is a parade of floats.

CONCLUSION: People enjoy the festival with lots of enjoyment and happiness. All festivals has his own important..
